Rover & Rangers
The Bharat Scouts & Guides is a voluntary, non-political, educational movement for young people, open to all without distinction of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods conceived by the Founder Lord Baden Powell in 1907.
Purpose: The purpose of the Movement is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual potentials as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of local, national and international communities.
Rovers and Rangers are the senior branch of Scouts and Guides. Both are a commitment to seek the spiritual value of life beyond the material world. Rovers and rangers is one of the best ways to train young persons to develop their all round development and it helps them inculcate attitude effectively to face the challenges with confidence in life. It meets the needs of youth to adjust in the Present Society and Undertake risks to help the distressed. It has a social dimension through Participation in the development of society. It helps to develop a Boy and a Girl strong in character, a sound body and mind with an attitude of help to others.
Rovers Rangers unit is skillfully working in the college. The curriculum and training both are very helpful in Government Job. The ‘Nipun Exams’ were conducted from 13.2.2012 to 17.2.2012 in the college. The weightage of 10 marks are given after passing this examination.
In 2011-12, 20th Inter collegiate competition was organized in Gautam Buddha Nagar. The rover’s team won second position.
In 2012-13, 21st Inter collegiate competition was organized in Maharaj Singh College Saharanpur from 9/2/2013 to 21.2.213. The ranger’s team won first position and rover’s team won second position.
In 2013-14 Inter Collegiate Competition was conducted in Meerut. In this competition the students of both teams won first prize in Individual Role Play, Speech and Essay Writing. Second prize was given in Folk Dance, First Aid and Quiz.
